The theme of this year's auto show is "Take The Wheel." Event organizers say this year's show is intended to demonstrate what the automotive industry can do for consumers.

Maserati will be showcasing its products, and guests will see models up close, according to a news release. Detroit-based Falcon Motor Sports is a new addition, giving guests an opportunity to see one of the nation's most exclusive performance vehicles, the release states.

The auto show also will feature several vehicles from the Lingenfelter Collection, which has a lineup of some of the world's most sought-after classic and contemporary cars.

Through its 50-year history, the auto show has featured exhibits from Ford, Chevrolet, Rolls-Royce and Ferrari. And it has attracted industry-leading speakers, including Carroll Shelby, the founder of Shelby America Inc., and Angus MacKenzie, editor-in-chief of Motor Trend Magazine.

During this year's auto show, J.D. Power and Associates is beta testing its new app designed to provide consumers a way to easily share opinions about their vehicles.

The auto show is 100-percent student-run and financed through the support of alumni, friends, corporations and foundation.
